Bandana Baptist Church is a loving and faithful congregation that can be described best as exciting, encouraging, and Christ-exalting. Founded in the year 1900 with a vision to reach the community of Bandana, Kentucky, in Ballard County, the saints of Bandana Baptist Church continue to fulfill that vision by being committed to the Lord, the Scripture, each other, and the mission of preaching the gospel to every creature. The Lord Jesus has used Bandana Baptist as a beacon of gospel light for centuries and they continue to be used by the Lord for that same purpose.
What We Believe
At Bandana Baptist Church, we subscribe to The Baptist Faith and Message of 1963.
Expectations of Members
We, the members of Bandana Baptist Church, guided by the word of God and empowered by the grace of God, endeavor together to submit to the following biblically-based guidelines for church membership:
- We believe in Jesus Christ as our only Savior and Lord and that He is the only way of salvation (Acts 4:12).
- We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God which equips believers for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- We believe in the Southern Baptist Faith and Message of 1963, and that it is the best interpretation of the doctrines of the Bible.
- We believe that believers should be baptized by immersion, as outlined in the word of God (Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 8:35-39).
- We believe in “close communion,” not “closed communion,” meaning that the Lord’s Supper is open to all who are part of the universal body of Christ. Non-members are permitted to observe the Lord’s Supper, so long as they are members of Christ’s church.
- We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, and we will endeavor to faithfully attend and participate in all worship services, unless hindered by providence (Acts 2:42; Heb. 10:25).
- We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, putting our preferences aside and other believers first (Eph. 4:1-3; Phil. 2:1-4).
- We will exercise affectionate care and watchfulness over each other and faithfully admonish and exhort one another as occasion may require (Heb. 3:12-13).
- We will submit to and participate in church discipline when necessary (Matt. 18:15-20; 1 Cor. 5:1-13; Titus 3:10).
- We will faithfully pray for one another as needs arise (James 5:13-15).
- We will faithfully support the ministry of this church as God enables us through prayer, commitment to biblical teaching, tithes and offerings, and the exercising of spiritual gifts (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Cor. 12:4-11; 16:1-2).
- We will pray for and seek the salvation of family, friends, and those who are lost in the community (Acts 1:8; Romans 10:1).
